The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 Living therein for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
