And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
