۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 Are we not then to die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
