So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
