Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
