Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
