The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
