And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
