Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
