The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said, "This is most surely a skillful magician, 109 who seeks to drive you out from your land. What would you have us do?' 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) - 111 who should bring to you every skillful magician." 112 The sorcerers came to Pharaoh. They said: 'Shall we be rewarded if we are the winners' 113 He said: "Yes, and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me)." 114 They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?" 115 He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell. 116 We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod": and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake! 117 ۞ Thus the truth was upheld, and the falsehood that they practised was exposed. 118 Thus were they there defeated and brought low. 119 and the sorcerers prostrated themselves, 120 Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Said Pharaoh: "Have you come to believe in him ere I have given you permission? Behold, this is indeed a plot which you have cunningly devised in this [my] city in order to drive out its people hence! But in time you shall come to know, [my revenge]: 123 I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides; then I will surely crucify you all." 124 They replied, "We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 Thou takest vengeance upon us only because we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour out upon us patience, and gather us unto Thee surrendering.' 126

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
