The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
