And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
