Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and the smooth runners 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
