Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say, "It has been revealed to me that a band of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, "We have heard a really wonderful recital, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
