Lo! for those who keep from evil are gardens of bliss with their Lord. 34 What! shall We then make (that is, treat) those who submit as the guilty? 35 What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge? 36 Or have you a book wherein you read, 37 that you will be granted whatever you choose? 38 Or, have you an oath from Us that stretches to the Day of Resurrection (if so) you shall surely have what you judge! 39 Ask them which of them will vouch for that, 40 Or do they have associates? Then let them bring their associates, if they speak truly. 41 On the day when the Shin* will be exposed and they will be called to prostrate themselves, they will be unable. (Used as a metaphor) 42 Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound. 43 Hence, leave Me alone with such as give the lie to this tiding. We shall bring them low, step by step, without their perceiving how it has come about: 44 I shall respite them, My stratagem is firm. 45 Or is it that thou dost ask them for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 46 Is the unseen within their grasp so that they write it down? 47 So be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord, and be not as the Man of the Fish, when he called, choking inwardly. 48 Had the favor of his Lord not come upon him, he would have been blamed, cast upon the shore. 49 Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of the Righteous. 50 And the Unbelievers would almost trip thee up with their eyes when they hear the Message; and they say: "Surely he is possessed!" 51 [Be patient:] for this is nought else but a reminder [from God] to all mankind. 52
