Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
