And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
