Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
