Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
