Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
