The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 pay their religious tax 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
