Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
