Al-Najm 3 of 3
HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
