He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 to a rich man, 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Not one - he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man therefore consider the sources of his food. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
