Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble scribes, 11 They know what you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
