The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a great day 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
