The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
