The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
