We have explained (the truth) in various ways in this Qur'an, that they may be warned; but it only increased their refractoriness. 41 Say: If there had been (other) gods with Him, as they say,- behold, they would certainly have sought out a way to the Lord of the Throne! 42 Limitless is He in His glory, and sublimely, immeasurably exalted above anything that men may say [about Him] 43 The seven skies, the earth, and all that lies within them, sing hallelujas to Him. There is nothing that does not chant His praises, but you do not understand their hymns of praise. He is verily clement and forgiving. 44 When you recite the Quran We place a curtain as a barrier between you and those who do not believe in the life to come. 45 and We lay veils upon their hearts lest they understand it, and in their ears heaviness. And when thou mentionest thy Lord only in the Koran, they turn in their traces in aversion. 46 When they listen to you, We know very well how they listen. When they conspire, when the evildoers declare: 'You are only following a man who is bewitched' 47 See what similes they strike for thee: but they have gone astray, and never can they find a way. 48 The pagans say, "When we become mere bones and dust, shall we then be brought back to life again?" 49 Say: Become stones or iron, 50 ۞ Or [any] creation of that which is great within your breasts." And they will say, "Who will restore us?" Say, "He who brought you forth the first time." Then they will nod their heads toward you and say, "When is that?" Say, "Perhaps it will be soon - 51 On the day when He will call you forth, then shall you obey Him, giving Him praise, and you will think that you tarried but a little (while). 52
