The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
