The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The terrible calamity! 1 What is the striking (Hour)? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that sudden calamity will be? 3 It is a Day whereon mankind will be like moths scattered about, 4 and the mountains shall be like fluffs of carded wool in varying colours. 5 And then, he whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance 6 Will have a tranquil life; 7 But as for him whose balance (of good deeds) will be light, 8 Will have the Abyss for abode. 9 What shall let you know what the Plunging is? 10 A blazing Fire! 11
