AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
