Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
