It is He who sends down to you out of heaven water of which you have to drink, and of which trees, for you to pasture your herds, 10 (With this water) He causes corn, olives, palm-trees, vines, and all kinds of fruits to grow. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of understanding. 11 And He subjected the night and the day for you – and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected to His command; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 12 And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed. 13 It is He who has subjected the sea to you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it in order that you seek His bounty and give thanks. 14 And He has placed firm mountains on the earth lest it should move away from you, and has made rivers and tracks that you may find your way, 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 IS, THEN, HE who creates comparable to any [being] that cannot create? Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 17 And if ye would count the favours of Allah ye could not compute them; verily Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare. 19 Those unto whom they cry beside Allah created naught, but are themselves created. 20 They are dead, not alive; and they do not know when will the people be raised. 21
