The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
