The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. These are verses from the Quran, a book that makes things clear; 1 As guidance and good tidings for the believers 2 who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. 3 We make their deeds attractive to those who do not believe in the Hereafter, so that they may wander in perplexity. 4 These are they who shall have an evil punishment, and in the hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. 5 You have been conveyed the Qur'an from One all-wise and all-knowing. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.” 8 O Musa! verily it is I, Allah, the Mighty the Wise! 9 "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,- 10 except he who has committed some wrong. But if he substitutes good in place of evil, I am Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate. 11 "Now place thy hand into thy bosom: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish!" [And thou shalt go] with nine [of My] messages unto Pharaoh and his people for, verily, they are people depraved!" 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers. 14
