Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
