But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 They will be told on the Day of Judgment, "Regret will never be of any benefit to you. You have done injustice to your souls and you will share the torment". 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 Or show you some of what We have promised them. They are certainly well within Our power. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 And ask (O Muhammad SAW) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint aliha (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent (Allah)?" 45
