(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
