Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
