The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and by the swelling ocean, 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 The mountains move and fly away, 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Endure it [now]! But [whether you] bear yourselves with patience or without patience, it will be the same to you: you are but being requited for what you were wont to do." 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
