And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 As to what they did. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
