The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
