No, by the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 From the guilty. 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till death overtook us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
