And whatever affliction befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought, and (yet) He pardons most (of your faults). 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 Further evidence (of His existence) are the ships which stand as mountains in the sea. 32 If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 So whatsoever things are vouchsafed unto you are but a passing enjoyment for the life of the world, and that which is with Allah, better and more lasting, is for those who believe and in their Lord put their trust. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 and those who, when suffering a great injustice, seek to defend themselves. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. 42 To exercise patience and forgive (the wrong done to one) is the proof of genuine determination. 43
