And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, you shall be lost. 34 What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 There is only the life of this world: We die and we live: there is no rising from the dead for us. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. 39 Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon." 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
