The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
