The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
