Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
