Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
